Language Placement

Students with prior knowledge of a Slavic language, either from home or previous study, must take a placement test before enrolling in a course.  Incoming new students needing placement in Polish or Russian should take the online test before July 31st.  These tests can be found at: http://placement-test.mmlc.northwestern.edu/taketest/In early September incoming students taking these tests will be emailed to arrange for a follow-up online oral interview. Students interested in placement tests in other Slavic languages (Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian, Bulgarian, or Macedonian) should contact  Elisabeth Elliott, Director of Slavic Languages, to arrange these. Students should not place themselves into a language class without permission from Professor Elliot.
