Ph.D., Harvard University (Comparative Literature)

Her research interests include Russian and German literature and philosophy, the evolution of nationalism and anti-Semitism, Romanticism, New Economic Criticism, issues of modernization, and Dostoevsky. Her articles have appeared in journals such as Philosophy and Literature, Partisan Review, Dostoevsky Studies, and Literary Imagination. In May 2004 she hosted the international conference "Critical Exchanges: Economy and Culture in the Literature of Russia" at Northwestern. She has given invited talks at Harvard and University of Illinois-Chicago. Professor Oddo is the Executive Secretary of the International Dostoevsky Society. She is currently completing a book on Russian nationalism and anti-Semitism through the prism of Dostoevsky and editing a new Norton Critical Edition of The Brothers Karamazov.
