Nada Petkovic Dj. is the appointed lecturer of Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian at Northwestern University and theUniversity of Chicago Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures. She joined the department in 1986 as a visiting Fulbright scholar . She is a native of Belgrade, Serbia, although she likes to refer to herself as a 'Yugonostalgic.' She studied both comparative literature, and Slavic languages and literatures at the University of Belgrade. As one of the pioneers in teaching Serbo-Croatian to foreign students in Belgrade, she has always been on a quest for better approaches and techniques in teaching her native language, with its polyphony of tongues and literatures.
